Interpretation During Books Princess Mia (The Princess Diaries #9)

A princess on her own . . . Mia has been invited to speak at a gala for Domina Rei, an elite society of powerful businesswomen. But what could she possibly have to say? Now that Michael has broken things off, Mia can barely get out of bed, and her parents are making her see a "therapist." School, where Lilly still refuses to speak to her and Lana suddenly wants to be bff, is a total nightmare. Even J.P.'s efforts to cheer Mia up (he's being really sweet!) aren't helping. What's a royal to do? Just when things couldn't get worse, Mia uncovers an old family secret, a long-forgotten diary of a teenage princess of Genovia. It could be just the thing to help Mia write her speech--but it might also change the fate of the Renaldos forever.

Column Containing Books Princess Mia (The Princess Diaries #9)
This is the first book in this series that I felt I could make a full-sized review on and that's because I think this one was my favorite so far. Characters: Mia: I finally fully loved Mia's character in a book. I think she changed and grew a lot from the last book and she's finally realizing things that need to be realized. I almost think she's more relatable now that she's gone through her transformation. Her breakdown was believable and consistent with her character through the series.

I feel like the book addressed depression and mental health really weirdly - it just felt forced. Lilly continues to be annoying and Mia is still whiny. But there is some character development and I'm really hoping that the characters' voices will continue to mature.

Eh 3.5 on reread. I did like this book, but upon reread I really got annoyed with some bits. The book feels a little PSA-y and honestly Mia wouldn't have what's considered clinical depression its situational depression at best. I wonder how Dr. Knutz would deal with someone with an actual mood disorder...actually I shudder at it. Also, upon reread the whole non-TV bit drove me mad. I am a grown ass woman now and I can still see myself throwing a huge fit over this logic. Also, it made me miss my

2.5 stars. I said I was going to stop at the last book, but here I am. Torturing myself because I felt too close to the end of the series not to finish it. Mia and Michael are officially done. Broken up with the love of her life, Mia doesn't know what to do with herself. She can't find the energy to get out of bed nor face the people at school where she knows they'll ask her about Michael. Not only that, but she doesn't have her best friend, Lily, to lean on anymore. I know Mia was sorting

Hmmm. This book was fighting a losing battle against itself. What do I mean by that? I guess... just that parts of it were great; other parts made me want to barf. Which, for me, makes it a typical Meg Cabot experience. I feel like we're destined to not click, Meg and I.The GreatMaybe it's just that I've read so many of Mia's diaries, but these characters are starting to find a place in my heart. Especially Tina and Boris. Bless their hearts. (Lilly, too, is starting to feel like a real person...

So. Good. Not sure if I'm on board with the 'bomb' Mia throw at the end.

SPOILER! SPOILER! SPOILER! SPOILER!Okay, I like the series. I wasn't real pleased with the one before this, but I was okay with it. The series is good. But this book was terrible. Mia acted like she was no one without Michael. And she's the one who dumped him, and when given the chance to tell him she din't want to be just friends, she didn't, and then spends the rest of the book whining about it! And I didn't like Lilly not being her friend. And she's so embarrassed about going to a therapist.
