The Perfect Happiness
A wife who has forgotten her own beauty and allure. A distant, distracted husband. A smart, candlelit dinner party, witty conversation, and a charmingly rugged vineyard owner from South Africa. So begins Santa Montefiore’s powerful and poignant new novel in which a woman who finds herself in a common predicament must confront the most unlikely aspects of herself.
"I hope you don’t mind my writing to you," begins the first e-mail bestselling children’s book author Angelica receives from Jack. Surely it can’t do any harm to indulge in a mild flirtation. After all, she wouldn’t risk her stable marriage and the happiness of her treasured children. But things don’t stop at an e-mail, and when Angelica goes to Cape Town for a book tour, her affair with Jack begins in earnest. On their last day together, he makes a stunning confession, and now everything Angelica thought she knew about love and passion, safety and experience, right and wrong are entirely upended once again.
A tender book about the true meaning of love and happily ever after, The Perfect Happiness is for any woman who has ever looked up from her steady, secure life and secretly wondered "what if . . ."
also entitled the perfest happiness attraction, temptation and compulsion .... angelica is happily married to a wealthy frenchman and has 2 children she adores. she also writes children's books which her husband considers a hobby but may be necessary when the financial crunch looms then her life is pulled apart when she meets a man and feels an instant attraction to him - and vice versa she finally commits adultery in his home country of south africa and then a moment of savage violence changes
A very inspiring novel with great insight into the meaning of life. However, the shallowness of the characters lives at the beginning almost kept me from reading the booktoo much about their designer clothes, etc.
There is nothing like a good love story, even if its not your own. Its a pleasure to witness true love, even when its just fiction. Want to know why? All the stories have come from the mind and the heart of a human being, just like you and me. It makes me rather hopeful... knowing that there are people who feel the world differently. This book is bittersweet, bittersweet to the point of actually hurting. I should be expecting this for its not my first Santa Montefiore novel, but somehow I had
Terrible book! Just pages and pages of nonsense. It took absolutely forever for anything to happen. Then a few pages dedicated to the "savage violence" that supposedly tore then apart. And back to London where she suddenly realises how wonderful her husband really is. And diamonds from the husband helps off course! The other things that irks me is that this book was published in 2010, yet the writer makes South Africa out to be a racist country. And her description of Africa makes it sound like
Childrens book author Angelica is quite happy with her lot. She has a successful career, 2 beautiful children and a French husband who works hard for his family in the world of banking. They have a very comfortable existence, and although the excitement in her marriage has petered out a little, Angelica still feels lucky with her life. However, when she meets South African wine maker Jack, she doesnt expect to develop strong feelings for him, so much so that she is willing to risk her safe and
Adultery, one of those topics that you try to avoid reading. This somehow brought to the fore. You value your family and yet you still seek more attentions. How's that again? This is my first book of Santa Montefiore which a niece gave me two weeks ago.

Meh!! Similar to the rating of 2 stars that says it was ok it was just ok.Not my usual genre of reading material I suppose, but I will say, its better than those Harlequin Romance type books. THOSE are way too FLUFFY for me. Because of a friend who, raved about how much she enjoyed The Affair, and then recommended this book to me, I hated not giving it a chance SO, I read it! (Im glad shes not on Goodreads to see this review) Im sorry Brenda but I guess I just didnt like the topic ofalso entitled the perfest happiness attraction, temptation and compulsion .... angelica is happily married to a wealthy frenchman and has 2 children she adores. she also writes children's books which her husband considers a hobby but may be necessary when the financial crunch looms then her life is pulled apart when she meets a man and feels an instant attraction to him - and vice versa she finally commits adultery in his home country of south africa and then a moment of savage violence changes
